Aunque lo correcto sería decir "mis 100 discos favoritos", aclaro que todo esto empezó con el artículo (de próxima publicación) que escribí para la revista Pulso, sobre los 6 discos que me llevaría a una isla desierta. 100 es lo mínimo, decidí. Y al ver una discusión similar en el foro I Hate Music, que frecuento, decidí de una vez por todas hacer mi lista.Últimas aclaraciones: aunque traté de limitar la elección a un sólo disco por artista, tuve que incluir dos discos de un mismo artista en seis ineludibles casos (Coltrane, Keith Jarrett, Serge Gainsbourg, Willie Colón, Héctor Lavoe y Sleep) e incluí tres discos de la gloriosa banda Africa 70 de Fela Kuti; tres de los discos que menciono no son oficiales, o sea, son grabaciones piratas de conciertos (material excepcionalmente brutal: David Murray solo al sax tenor en los 70's; la ICP Orchestra -a quienes vi hace un mes en Texas- en vivo en los 90's con Peter Brötzmann y Roswell Rudd; y la bestialmente groovy big band japonesa Shibusa Shirazu Orchestra en vivo en Europa hace un par de años); y he incluido dos compilaciones (de Bad Religion y Mose Allison; ambas incluyen la mayoría de mis canciones favoritas de tales artistas).
